Jazz will fill the air in Downtown Houston as the 23rd Annual Houston International Jazz Festival kicks off August Jazz Month.
The Houston International Jazz Festival presents the most exciting Jazz artists from around the world, bringing a diverse mix of styles to Houston. It has established its place among notable events as thousands of loyal fans turn out the first week-end of each August. Enjoy the Battle of The Brass Bands and the SJW All-stars.
The event's all-star lineup includes Sheila E, Jonathan Butler, Elan Trotman, performing collectively as the "Soul of Summer" in addition to student performers known as the Summer Jazz Workshop All-Stars and local returning acts such as the Texas Brass Band and Nicaraguan-inspired jazz by Yelba Heaton Roman. First-time festival performers include the energetic Los Skarnales band, and fusion rock and soul artist, Sydnee-Jane.
